Big League Ballpark Inc., doing business as HeyBLU ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our website (heyblu.ai), our iOS strike zone tracking application, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). The HeyBLU app processes camera input on your device in real time; it does not upload or store game video on our servers.
1. Information We Collect
Local processing guarantee. HeyBLU is built on a privacy-forward architecture. The app processes camera frames locally on your device in real-time to track pitches and generate strike zone data. We do not transmit, upload, store, or retain video recordings or images off-device.
HeyBLU iOS App (Core Use)
You can use the core strike zone tracking features without providing personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name or email address. The app does not require an account to run a session on your device.
During on-device operation, the app may generate and keep on your iPhone:
- Pitch and session data (e.g., ball/strike calls, pitch counts, speeds, locations, timestamps)
- Setup and calibration values you enter (e.g., strike zone size, distance, device role)
- Session summaries and exports you choose to save or share from your device
Camera frames are processed in real time on-device for tracking. They are not saved as video files by HeyBLU and are not uploaded to our servers as part of normal app operation.
Identity, Children, and Analytics
- No PII required for core app use: Name, email, and similar identifiers are not required to track pitches in the app.
- Minors: HeyBLU may be used around youth baseball, but we do not link a child's on-field activity to a child's identity in our systems. We do not knowingly collect a minor's name or contact information through the core app.
- Pseudonymous diagnostics: We may use pseudonymous device identifiers (not your name or email) for basic app performance measurement and crash diagnostics, such as through Apple's standard developer tools. These identifiers are used to keep the app stable, not to profile individual players on the field.
Website, Beta, and Support (When You Contact Us)
If you use heyblu.ai or reach out to us, you may voluntarily provide:
- Name and contact information (e.g., email) when you join the beta waitlist, submit a form, or email support
- Information you provide in support or feedback messages (device model, iOS version, steps to reproduce, optional logs)
- Questions and preferences if you use a text-based rulebook assistant on the website
- Website usage data via cookies or analytics on heyblu.ai (see Section 8)
- Payment information only if you make a purchase, handled by the app store or payment processor (we do not store full card numbers)
If you optionally attach diagnostic files to a support request, we use them only to investigate that issue. We do not treat optional support attachments as part of the app's normal data collection.
2. How We Collect Information
We collect information in the following ways:
- When you fill out forms (e.g., to join the beta waitlist, request league rulebook integration, or contact us)
- When you use our Services (e.g., asking questions in the rulebook assistant, using strike zone tracking)
- Through cookies and third-party analytics (e.g., Google Analytics)
- When you voluntarily provide information through surveys, feedback forms, or customer support
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our Services
- Run on-device strike zone tracking, pitch logging, and session summaries on your iPhone
- Process beta program applications and manage waitlists
- Respond to your questions and provide customer support
- Send important updates about our Services, product launches, and beta program (when you have provided contact information)
- Measure basic app performance and diagnose crashes using pseudonymous identifiers
- Analyze website usage patterns and improve user experience
- Ensure security and prevent fraud
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Subscriptions & Payments
HeyBLU is a paid auto-renewable subscription purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We do not receive or store your payment card number. Apple processes payment and provides us with purchase status information (such as whether a subscription is active, in trial, or expired).
What Apple may share with us
- Subscription status and entitlement (active, trial, expired, or cancelled)
- Product identifier, purchase date, and renewal period (monthly or annual)
- Anonymous or pseudonymous transaction identifiers used for support and fraud prevention
What we do not receive from Apple
- Full payment card numbers or bank account details
- Your Apple ID password
Apple's handling of payment data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. For subscription management and cancellation, use Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device, or visit Apple's subscription management page.
Subscription terms, including auto-renewal, optional free trials or promotional offers, pricing, and cancellation, are described in our Terms of Service & EULA.
Subscription vs Follow Game data
HeyBLU subscribers may have session summaries saved to Session History on the device for later review. Follow Game viewing on a second device does not persist session data after the connection ends. We do not upload game video from the HeyBLU camera to our servers as part of normal app operation.
5. Sharing of Information and Third-Party Processors
We do not sell your personal data. We do not upload or store HeyBLU camera video or images on our servers as part of normal app operation.
We may share limited information with trusted service providers who help us operate the website, beta program, and app distribution. They are obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
Third-Party Processors
Depending on how you interact with us, the following services may process data:
- Apple (Apple Inc.): App Store, TestFlight, and iOS platform services (including crash and performance diagnostics you allow through iOS). Subject to Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/privacy/privacy-policy
- Vercel (Vercel Inc.): Hosts the heyblu.ai website. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Formspree (or similar form handlers): Processes information you submit through website forms (e.g., beta signup, support). Subject to the processor's privacy policy.
- OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.), if enabled: Processes text-only queries for an optional rulebook assistant on the website—not live camera video from the iOS app. Subject to OpenAI's privacy policy: https://openai.com/privacy
- Payment processors: If you make purchases, Apple In-App Purchase or other payment processors handle payment data. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Website analytics: We may use analytics on heyblu.ai (e.g., Google Analytics) that collect pseudonymous or aggregated website usage data.
What We Do Not Share From Normal App Use
- Live camera video streams or recorded game video from HeyBLU sessions
- Biometric data derived from video
- Photos or image files captured by the app for cloud storage
Third-Party Processor Requirements
Service providers we use are expected to:
- Use your data only for the purposes we specify
- Implement appropriate security measures
- Comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations
- Delete or return your data when the processing relationship ends (subject to legal retention requirements)
We may also disclose your information if required by law, to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger, acquisition, or sale of assets).
6. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (using TLS/SSL) for website and support communications
- Secure hosting and infrastructure with access controls for data you send us voluntarily
- On-device processing for core strike zone tracking so camera frames stay on your iPhone during normal use
- Regular security assessments and updates
- Limited access to personal data we hold on a need-to-know basis
However, no system can guarantee absolute security, and you use our Services at your own risk. We encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your account credentials secure.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.
On Your Device (HeyBLU App)
Session and pitch data from the app are stored on your iPhone unless you export or share them yourself. You can delete session data in the app. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored HeyBLU data from that device.
We do not retain copies of live camera video or images from normal app operation on our servers.
Data You Send to Us
- Beta and contact forms: Name, email, and form responses—typically up to 3 years after your last interaction, or sooner if you request deletion.
- Support communications: Emails, bug reports, and optional attachments you send—typically up to 3 years to resolve issues and improve the product.
- Website analytics: Pseudonymous or aggregated usage data—typically up to 2 years.
- Crash and performance diagnostics: Pseudonymous technical logs via Apple's developer tools—retained according to Apple's and our vendor's standard periods.
- Legal and compliance: We may retain certain records longer if required by law, regulation, dispute resolution, or to protect our legal rights.
Deletion Requests
To request deletion of information we hold about you (forms, support, or marketing contact), email support@heyblu.ai. We will respond within a reasonable time. Deletion of on-device session data is controlled by you in the app or by removing the app from your device.
8. Your Rights
You may contact us at any time to:
- Request access to your personal information
- Correct or update your data
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt-out of marketing communications
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. Please contact us to exercise these rights.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your use of our Services. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect functionality.
10. Children's Privacy
HeyBLU is often used around youth baseball, but the app is operated by coaches, parents, leagues, or other adults. We comply with applicable children's privacy laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) where it applies to information collected online.
We do not link a minor's on-field pitch data to that minor's identity in our systems. The core app does not require a child to register with name or email. Any PII we receive is typically from an adult (for example, a beta signup or support email).
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information through a website form or email, contact support@heyblu.ai to review, modify, or delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" above and update the link on our site.
Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
